Family Pastor Michael Baer

Brother Michael has served at First Baptist Church Screven since 2017. He is a native of Ashland, Kentucky. Brother Michael is married to his wife, Dana, and they have two grown children, Ethan and Derrek. He is an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan, Go Big Blue! He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Bro. Michael desires to see the lives of children and students, along with the families they represent, transformed by the gospel through a saving faith in Jesus Christ. His passion is to teach and preach the Word of God.

Favorite verse: Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (ESV)

Worship Pastor Eric Woods

Brother Eric has served at First Baptist Church Screven since 2019. He was born in Knoxville, TN, but grew up just south of Atlanta, GA. He is married to Patty Woods and they have five children and four grand-children. Brother Eric has served churches in Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia.  He is a graduate of Truett-McConnell University with a degree in church music. Brother Eric enjoys racing triathlons, playing musical instruments, and spending time with his children and grand-children.

Pastor Eric desires for the followers of Christ to live a lifestyle of worship each day of the week not just on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Favorite verse: Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Admin Assistant Tammy Shanklin First Baptist Church Screven

Administrative Assistant Tammy Shanklin

Tammy has served as administrative assistant at First Baptist Church Screven since 2009.  She lives in Gardi with her husband, Carl. They have two adult children, Caitlin and Tessa,  and four grandchildren she likes to spoil.

She enjoys traveling, camping and shopping. She and her husband are members of First Baptist Church of Screven.

Favorite verse: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
