Partners In Hope
At FBC Screven we affirm the value of every person from the womb to the end of earthly life, without exception. Therefore, the gift of life should be cherished and not taken prematurely. We also believe that to truly believe this, we must be willing to help those parents who choose life and support all children, regardless of the presence of parents in their life. We do this through Partners in Hope.
Through Partners In Hope, we come alongside parents choosing life to provide basic needs such as clothing, hygiene items, diapers, and spiritual support. We partner with DFACS as a first-line resource for children coming into foster care through clothing, school supplies, hygiene items, and spiritual care and we continue this support through the child’s time in foster care. We partner with foster parents to provide resources for their biological children in addition to their foster children. We provide an annual Christmas Party at Days of Creation Christmas Tree Farm where the children of foster families receive Pajamas, toys, stockings, in addition to a ride in a sleigh and food and games. Parents are given nights of respite care when we offer parents night out to foster families. We also help parents who are at risk of losing their children to the foster system by helping them meet the requisites given to them by DFACS to keep their children.
Partners In Hope takes donations of new and gently used clothing, shoes, baby cribs, changing tables/dressers, and strollers. We also accept donations of new hygiene items, toiletries, diapers, etc… You can also give financially by going to https://onrealm.org/FirstBaptistChurchScreven/-/form/give/now) and under fund choose “Missions Fund–Designated”.
